Rejection sucks. I don’t care who you are or what you do – It happens to everyone, and it feels really really crummy.
I woke up this morning, the sun was shining, the pond was calm, the air was very light…
and I thought, “This is going to be a beautifully productive day! I’m going to check my job sites, do a bit of work on my blog, teach some yoga, and hopefully hear back from Such n’ Such about another job opportunity!”
Fast forward to this afternoon’s email that read, “We’ve reviewed your application, and unfortunately we cannot accept you as a writer for this project at this time.”
This isn’t the first time, and it won’t be the last – but geez!
(Enter the self-defeating thoughts.)
I’ve been beating myself up all afternoon, when I shouldn’t. Emotions are already heightened right now due to tomorrow’s Full Moon eclipse. And while this eclipse may bring feelings of anger and frustration to the surface, it is the best time to cool your jets and channel your energy into something that feeds your soul.
Hence, this blog post. Saving my husband and children from any unnecessary picked fights because I’m frustrated. I turn to writing.
It’s only a phase, things will turn.
Focus on something outside of yourself.
Learn something new.
Travel (it doesn’t have to be far).
Do something physical, like YOGA.
Yes, yoga! My husband and I joke about it all the time… my answer to everything is YOGA. Yoga fixes everything! Headaches. Backaches. Heartaches. Stress. Anxiety. Colds. Insomnia.
Yoga teaches us to cure what need not be endured and endure what cannot be cured. – – B.K.S. Iyengar
So during these difficult times, try not to lash out – especially at those you love most. There will soon be smoother sailing. Take this time to grow and revive yourself, recognizing how far you’ve travelled. Be at peace with where you are and keep the doors open for possibility to walk through.
