As I settle in after another day of work, knowing there are 2 more to go before the weekend, I read the news and feel quite tired from all the negativity. There are so many things I would rush to and stop or help out with, if only I could. The injustice, the unfairness, the inequality, the cruelty, the insensitive, the ignorance, the inability to appreciate the beauty right before us. It’s all a bit much for me tonight. “Anyone can slay a dragon …but try waking up every morning and loving the world all over again. That’s what takes a real hero.”
I read a few days ago (somewhere) that yoga isn’t about touching your toes. It’s about unlocking what you want, seeing where you want to go, and feeling what you achieve when you get there.
I continue to be amazed at the number of people who come up to me and start talking about yoga. I love it! I love the way they share what brings them peace or how they find quiet and tranquility in the middle of their hectic lives. I love how we talk about poses or nutrition or what may help this ache or that. And as I listen, I think in awe …these people think a good deal about me to value my opinion. I love to share what I’ve learned so far. I love to see how our lives run quite similarly when from the outside they seem quite different. I still consider myself a “baby yogi” – still learning so much in my journey through the 200-hr process. However, to feel I have already earned someone’s trust in yoga means so much. And for that, I thank you.
May your mind be good of thought, your lips truthful in speech, and your heart radiant of love.
